What can Hearably Studio do?

How does the AI captioning work?
Hearably Pro runs a Whisper speech-recognition model directly in your browser using WebAssembly. The first use downloads and caches a model of about 150 MB. Later runs can reuse that cache. Captions export as SRT subtitle files alongside your enhanced audio.
What is Magic Cut?
Magic Cut automatically detects silence and filler words ('um', 'uh', 'like', 'you know') in your audio. It shows you every detected segment with timestamps so you can toggle KEEP or CUT for each one before exporting. The exported file has all the dead air removed — turning a 20-minute raw recording into clean, tight content.
How do I boost audio volume with look-ahead limiting?
Hearably Pro uses a 3-band Linkwitz-Riley crossover, per-band compression, and a custom look-ahead limiter. The limiter reduces digital clipping, but high gain can still expose source distortion or exceed the limits of speakers and headphones. Increase gain gradually.
What formats are supported?
Import: MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC, M4A, WMA. Export: WAV (lossless) and MP3 (320/192 kbps). When captions are enabled, an SRT subtitle file is also exported. Video import and export with burned-in captions coming soon.
Is my data private?
File decoding and processing happen locally in your browser using the Web Audio API, OfflineAudioContext, and WebAssembly. Hearably does not upload the audio file to its servers. Model downloads and ordinary page analytics still require network requests, so review the privacy policy for the complete data boundary.
What is a look-ahead limiter?
A look-ahead limiter is a professional audio tool that delays the signal by a few milliseconds to detect peaks before they happen. When a peak is detected, the limiter smoothly reduces gain to prevent clipping — unlike a standard limiter that reacts after distortion has occurred. Hearably uses a 5ms look-ahead buffer implemented as a custom AudioWorklet, the same technology used in professional mastering studios.
