When a video, webinar, or call is still quiet at 100%, first check the player, browser mixer, and system volume. If those controls are already correct, Hearably can process a supported tab locally with gain, EQ, multiband compression, and peak limiting.

How it works

After you invoke the extension, Chrome provides an audio stream for the active tab. Hearably processes that stream in the browser and routes it back to your output. The extension does not record or upload captured tab audio for real-time enhancement.

Compatibility before promises

Support depends on the browser, playback path, protected content, and changes made by each website. Native desktop apps and system sounds are outside the extension. Test the specific tab at a moderate gain before relying on it.

Louder is not automatically better

A limiter can reduce new digital clipping, but it cannot remove distortion already in the source or override hardware limits. Start low, increase gradually, and back off if you hear rattling, harshness, or discomfort.

Does Hearably work with desktop apps?
